Owl

After a twister come through our neighborhood we noticed what we thought where big nests high in the old trees.
It turned our to be 9 small barn owls. For the next few weeks we enjoyed watching them hunt for insects over the stream.
This inspired 10 years of owl making!!
This owl is inspired by watching there wings. And Dan is trying to create movement in a still piece.
The owls are a project that we do together. Lori throws the original shape and Dan adds the parts that make it an owl. Lori returns to hand carve the feather details. Bisque fired, glazed and high fired to cone 10 in reduction.
This elegant Sentinel will be a perfect addition for any owl collector.
